A comprehensive examination is the cornerstone of Maison Dental’s care policy.
An oral exam allows us to check the overall health and hygiene of your mouth. We are able to screen for oral disease, check for signs of grinding, enamel erosion and spot any visible decay. X-rays, intra-oral photos, and digital scans of your teeth aid us in diagnosing disease and allow us to record how the look and function of your teeth change over time. Not only do we examine your teeth, but also the soft tissues, tonsils and surrounding oral muscles.

Gum Health and Cleaning
Gums are like the foundations of a house. With strong foundations, strong teeth can flourish and we’re able to eat to our heart’s content during a long and healthy life . If instead our foundations are damaged, our teeth are at greater risk of becoming mobile and suffering from decay, pain and sensitivity. That is why it’s so important to have regular cleanings with the dentist to remove any plaque and hard build-up (calculus) which can cause inflammation and breakdown of the gums and surrounding bone. We promise to be thorough but gentle, so your gums remain strong and healthy enough to support your teeth. Our heated water chamber for ultrasonic scaling also helps to reduce sensitivity that one may experience during a cleaning.
