Teeth Whitening

Do you want a brighter smile for a special event, or just feel your teeth are looking a little yellow? Teeth whitening can help whiten and brighten your teeth. We offer in-chair Zoom whitening treatments for instant results or provide custom-made trays and whitening gels which will gradually whiten your teeth at home. We are able to advise which whitening treatments are most appropriate for your teeth as some discolourations will not respond to whitening.

What is the difference between a dentist and a whitening kiosk?

Dentists are able to diagnose whether teeth whitening will work for your teeth and what the best options are for your teeth. Some discolourations for example, those caused by antibiotics or arrested caries lesions, will not respond to teeth whitening with hydrogen peroxide. If a single tooth has darkened after root canal treatment, it will also not respond to normal teeth whitening methods and may need internal bleaching which effectively whitens the tooth from the inside out. This is a treatment that only a dentist is able to perform.

Higher chemical concentrations of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide required to achieve the best results can only be used by dental professionals. Strict infection control standards are also paramount so that you can feel rest assured that you will be receiving the highest level of care.
